USD Index Painting A Different and More Calming Picture into Year End

Despite some aggressive and notable moves in certain currencies over the past few days to record and multi-year highs against the US Dollar, it is worth noting that the USD Index, which measures US Dollar performance against a basket of major currencies, has not drifted too far from familiar ranges. This should mitigate the latest price action somewhat and remind us that current market conditions are not ideal in the lightened end of year trade. The Australian Dollar and Swiss Franc remain very well bid on the whole, but have also failed to materially extend gains thus far. Meanwhile the Yen has actually taken the lead in recent trade to outperform all others on the back of what appears to be some short covering.

As far as any real or meaningful developments are concerned, all is very quiet on Wednesday thus far. Traders who are still on the desk are already thinking about the New Year’s weekend, and we do not see much in the way of any material moves in the FX markets from here into Friday. From a strategy standpoint, there is simply no good reason to be taking any positions in the extremely thin trade, and we would not expect to see normal market conditions return until the second week of January.

USD_index_painting_a_different_and_more_calming_picture_body_Picture_6.png, USD Index Painting A Different and More Calming Picture into Year End

EUR/USD:The market has mostly been locked in a choppy consolidation over the past several days, but a lower top looks to have carved out by 1.3500, with a break back below 1.2970 over the coming sessions to confirm and open the next major downside extension towards the 1.2585 platform base from August 2010. As such, any intraday rallies towards the 1.3350 area should be used as formidable sell opportunities.

USD_index_painting_a_different_and_more_calming_picture_body_Picture_7.png, USD Index Painting A Different and More Calming Picture into Year End

USD/JPY:The latest break and daily close back below the daily Ichimoku cloud and 82.00 handle is significant and certainly delays and hopes for recovery prospects. From here, the focus shifts back on the multi-year and near record lows just ahead of 80.00, with a break below to officially expose the all-time lows by 79.75 from 1995. Nevertheless, we do not recommend looking to sell at current levels given the very thin trade, and would instead favor looking to buy into dips given the longer-term cyclical lows and likelihood for a major bullish reversal into early 2011. For now, a daily close back above 82.00 will be required to relieve downside pressures.

USD_index_painting_a_different_and_more_calming_picture_body_Picture_8.png, USD Index Painting A Different and More Calming Picture into Year End

GBP/USD:The market remains under pressure and now seems poised for a retest of the platform base from early September at 1.5295. Daily studies are in the process of unwinding from oversold levels, so we would not rule out the possibility for more of a bounce towards the 1.5700 area over the coming sessions from where a fresh lower top will be sought out ahead of an eventual drop to challenge and break 1.5295. In the interim, we remain sidelined and await a clearer signal.

USD_index_painting_a_different_and_more_calming_picture_body_Picture_9.png, USD Index Painting A Different and More Calming Picture into Year End

USD/CHF: Despite the latest drop to fresh record lows, inability to establish a meaningful close below the previous record lows by 0.9460 keeps our basing bias intact and we continue to look for some major upside over the medium and longer-term. Cyclical studies are showing oversold and any additional declines below 0.9400 are not seen as sustainable. In the interim, look for a break back above 0.9670 to confirm and relieve immediate downside pressures, while only a close below 0.9400 gives reason for concern.

Looking ahead, all of the key data releases on the day come out of the US, with initial jobless claims (415k expected) and continuing claims (4084k expected) out at 13:30GMT, followed by Chicago PMI (61.0 expected) at 14:45GMT and pending home sales (2.0% expected) at 15:00GMT. Oil and gas inventory data then rounds things out at 16:00GMT. US equity futures and commodities prices are tracking marginally higher on the day.

Make Money Fast

Many people are searching for ways to make money fast online these days. Itâ??s certainly in large part due to the economic crisis and people either being unemployed or underemployed and having a hard time making ends meet. However can you make money on internet projects as quickly as needed? I guess the main question is what your idea of FAST is?
For exampleâ?¦
I personally think that adsense is a great, relatively easy and cheap way to start developing online income. But, even if you reach payment threshold letâ??s say by the end of January, you wonâ??t receive that payment until the end of February. That isnâ??t exactly my idea of fast but it is quicker than some other affiliate programs (Amazon is one of the slower ones out there.)
In fact, most affiliate programs will be sending out checks anywhere from 2 weeks after the reporting period up to 6 weeks after the earnings reported. So how does one make money fast online?
Believe it or not there are a number of ways. FIrst, there are affiliate programs that pay directly to a paypal account. For instance paydotcom.com has merchants that pay monthly to their affiliates via paypal. So, this is at least a bit quicker. There are other affiliate programs that will do similar paypal paments. Some will even pay directly to your paypal account on making a sale. One approach Iâ??ve seen quite a bit is that every other sale goes 100% to the affiliate. So, the first affiliate sale â?? the product producer gets 100%, the second one the affiliate gets 100%, next the product producer and then back to the affiliate. If you have an offer like this I would build a page on one of your own sites (or using a free site like blogspot or wetpaint, etcâ?¦. just check their rules first. Then I would use article marketing at various other sites to build links to your sales page for the product using your anchor text that youâ??ve researched. You really can distribute the same articles to multiple directories (be sure to check THEIR rules though on whether or not they want previously unpublished material.) The whole thing could really be setup in one afternoon.
Another approach to make money fast online is to use a service like odesk to advertise your services either for writing, research, or other specialized skills. Say for instance you can make great videosâ?¦. well, many internet marketers stink at making great videos of their content, so for a fee (Iâ??d ask for an advance and then the balance on completion I think) take the text theyâ??ve given and make a really good video that they can then upload to video sites.
Okay â?? so maybe youâ??re not good at videos but can setup wordpress blogs really quick and well. Again, odesk or WarriorForum is a good place to advertise these skill sets. For that matter if you have a particular talent like that you may want to just write up a good detailed tutorial and then sell THAT. Accompany it with a video screencast of how to install wordpress and youâ??ll have a product that you can get quite a few sales of.
The WarriorForum is a great place to find internet marketers and they have a special section called WSOâ??s these are Warrior Special Offers. You have to be a paying member now to post there, but the membership ($37 for 20 years) is WELL worth it for the valuable tips you find. The idea of the WSOâ??s is to highlight offers at a special rate for members of the WarriorForum. I wouldnâ??t go and sign up and post an offer the same day, but look around first, learn, get a feel for the place and whatâ??s needed or in demand and then go from there.
Hereâ??s a parting thought for youâ?¦. donâ??t you think that Levi Strauss did better selling jeans to gold miners than 95% of the gold miners in California? I suspect soâ?¦. he found a need and found a way to supply it. So, thatâ??s the way I think of the WSOâ??s at WarriorForumâ?¦. theyâ??re all selling jeans and picks to the gold miners.
Some other ideas are more tedious but can still raise some quick money. Develop a site/domain with a wordpress install. Build out a limited number of pages of content and then sell the premade site ready to go. Develop a theme or set of themese for blogging software (or just an html template or collection of templates.) This is a tougher sell as there are so many free templates out there, but there might be someone wanting a customized theme.
Building backlinks for a site, or social bookmarking might be something that an individual or company may be willing to pay for. Browse the same outsourcing sites that weâ??ve talked about using to outsource OUR tasks and get ideas there. There really can be a lot of options for you to make money fast online, itâ??s definitely more challenging, but with some creative thinking can be done.

Trading Spot Gold and Silver

Intro to spot metals trading

Trade gold futures

Trading spot metals with FOREX.com allows you to speculate on the price movements of gold (XAU/USD) or silver (XAG/USD) relative to the US dollar or other major currencies.

Our spot metals markets are quoted and traded in a very similar way to currency pairs. Trading is available 24 hours a day from Sunday 11pm GMT through to 10pm Friday GMT.

The 'spot' price refers to the price quoted for the metal to be paid for (including delivery) two days following the date of the transaction (the settlement date).

Spot gold and silver trades globally over the counter with the main centres for trading in London, New York, and Zurich. Liquidity in the spot metals market is typically highest when European market hours overlap with trading in New York, and the market can experience periods of illiquidity around the close of the US market.

Who trades spot gold and silver, and why?

There are many different reasons that drive investors to trade spot gold and silver:

  • Speculation on price movements in a very liquid market, often using fundamental and/or technical analysis to identify potential opportunities
  • Part of a balanced, diversified asset allocation model for an overall investment portfolio
  • As a risk management tool, used as a hedge against market volatility caused by economic, political or social turmoil.

How To Work With Business Opportunities

Whilst more and more people are looking for work online at home to stay with their families, so many of us are still stuck in dead end 9-5 jobs feeling like we have no escape from the weekly pressures. There are ways in which to begin a career working from home and ways to make that career work so well that it pays the mortgage, bills and many other things besides. It is simply a matter of knowing how to go about things. There are a great many different business opportunities and ideas that you can research online, however do not for one minute think that any of them do not involve a lot of hard work. Trying to find an easy route to wealth from working online will never end for you as there simply aren't any!

The only way forward is to move slowly and carefully and approach all business opportunities and ventures with caution. You cannot expect to simply walk into a new job working online without falling seriously behind on your monthly expenditures. This is where the really hard part comes into play. Working two jobs is a hard task for anyone, especially for those people with families to take care of too. However, it merely is a means to an end. Become involved in the online community you plan to work with and make yourself known amongst the crowd. Build up a portfolio of work that you plan to offer as a paid service to show any potential customers exactly what you can do. Do all of these things whilst you are working in your normal job so as to pay the rent as well as researching and preparing for your new career choice.

Once you have created this portfolio of work, the best way forward is to make your next move a rather clever one. Offer your services to the people in your online community at low rates. Make no profit at all, or at least very little. This makes a big impact on any potential customers as they can see that you are willing to prove your worth before charging high prices for your services. The low price will attract a lot of clientele and therefore you need to manage your workload carefully around the job that you are already doing. Limit the low price offer to 10 or 20 clients and then kindly ask them for reviews on your service. Once they have posted the good reviews, you can then eventually stop your day job all together and take on the hoards of work that these reviews will generate for you!

How Your Big Idea Makes You Famous

I always knew that Big Ideas were powerful. But I realized yesterday, I have much to learn about its TRUE power.

You see, I was having lunch with two entrepreneur friends. We were talking about how gurus always have their own famous concepts or Big Ideas.

Like how T Harv Eker has his Big Ideas about the Financial Blueprint and his famous “Give me 5 minutes and I can predict your financial future for the rest of your life.” And how Robert Kiyosaki has his Cashflow Quandrant (the E,S,B,I diagram).

Then one of my friends asked, “Do you know who Noah St. John is?”

“Nope.” I said nonchalantly.

“This guy is THE up and coming guru in personal development. He has a lot of concepts that are pretty common. But he has one that is really good. It’s about Afformations.”

My mind lit up. “Oh, Afformations! I’ve heard about it before! So that’s the guy you are talking about.”

Then it hit me.

I remembered his Big Idea BETTER than the person himself!

The experience I had was so amazing to me, when I reached home, I opened my Gmail and searched for “Afformations.” I vaguely remembered I had read about afformations in an email.

One result came out. I opened that email.

Turns out that Noah St. John had guest posted on the March 14, 2009 issue of Early to Rise (my favorite email newsletter by Michael Masterson.) And he had only guest posted once.

Amazing.

He had only ONE contact with me.

Yet his Big Idea stayed in my mind ever since.

And it stuck in my mind even BETTER than the person!

As I reflected on what happened, I realized that it’s really similar to my experience with how I got to know of prominent bloggers and internet marketers. Often…

I remembered his Big Idea BEFORE I remembered the person.

I didn’t realize it then, since there was never a time where I forgot about someone before a friend asked me about that someone and me replying that I remembered his Big Idea but not him.

Let’s look at a list of whom I remembered their Big Ideas before their names.

Big Idea: Copyblogger

Name: Brian Clark.

Big Idea: Problogger

Name: Darren Rowse.
(You may not realize this, but back then in 2003, there was no such thing as a professional blogger. Problogger is the FIRST blog to introduce the concept of problogging, and so it became Darren’s Big Idea. He did not realize it then, but he knows it now.)

Big Idea: Diagram on the cover of Internet Business Manisfesto

Name: Rich Schefren (Internet Business Strategist who is called Guru to the gurus. Yaro Starak calls him his mentor.)

Big Idea: Butterfly Marketing (or Viral Marketing)

Name: Mike Filsaime

Big Idea: Mass Control

Name: Frank Kern (also known as the surfer dude)

Big Idea: Product Launch Formula

Name: Jeff Walker

Big Idea: Marketing With You

Name: Alex Jeffreys

Big Idea: “Attraction is not a choice”

Name: David DeAngelo (pen name of Eben Pagan, guru who dominated the dating niche)

Do you know of these people? If so, did you know of their Big Ideas before you knew them?

These people may have their Big Ideas packaged in different ways. Maybe it was their blog name, or their flagship product, or their trademark diagram, or their trademark saying.

But whatever form their Big Idea came as, their Big Idea stuck in my mind FIRST, before I associated their Big Idea with the guru and remembered their names.

Why does this happen?

Why does a Big Idea work so powerfully that it can precede you to getting yourself known?

Let’s go back to my experience about Noah St. John and his Big Idea

As a person who is also into self-help kind of stuff, I do know of quite a few gurus. Many times, their ideas are similar to one another. But every famous guru always have one or two ideas that stand out.

Noah St. John’s Afformations idea stood out.

His idea is basically, instead of saying affirmations, you ask affirming questions. And he calls it Afformations. It’s simple, but revolutionary.

When I first read about his Afformations idea, it immediately created aNEW CATEGORY in my mind.

He instantly became “The Afformations Guru” to me.

With only ONE contact with his Big Idea…

He had gained and secured a POSITION in my mind.

Noah St. John, the name, bears no meaning to me at first. To me, he would have been lost in my memory among the sea of other personal development guru wannabes.

But his Big Idea carved a position in my mind and left its mark forever, opening the door for Noah, the person, to be remembered.

It’s really the same experience I had with all the gurus I know, including prominent bloggers and internet marketers that I’ve listed above.

And if it worked on you and me, it could well mean it worked on almost everyone else.

Their Big Idea, no matter the form in which it was presented, created a new category which positioned them as THE expert of that category in our minds.

They made a deep impression in our minds with their Big Idea first before we attached the person to the Big Idea. In short,

… but VASTLY different results!

For some time now, I have been searching an answer to this question, “Is there anything else that separates star bloggers from average bloggers?”

It turns out there is. I call it the Big Idea.

It’s an idea that makes people remember who you are and what you stand for.

When you develop your own Big Idea, you’ll have many readers attracted to your blog and sticking with you.

And let’s not forget what this means – more $$$ for you. Because now you have the audience to earn money by advertising space or by selling products.
Kindle blogs are fully downloaded onto your Kindle so you can read them even when you’re not wirelessly connected. And unlike RSS readers which often only provide headlines, blogs on Kindle give you full text content and images, and are updated wirelessly throughout the da

Selling online

Once upon a time, setting up a business meant opening up a shop somewhere where you could be sure that customers would come to see you. You needed to order stock and keep the shop tidy, well-heated or ventilated, and you needed to always be there. All of this meant that starting to sell would be preceded by weeks, even months of extremely diligent work, and with no guarantee of success anyone looking to set up a business would often decide that, on balance, the risk was too big. Now those problems are things of the past, and the potential businessperson can get things up and running very quickly.

The thing about “bricks and mortar” businesses is that they relied a lot on location and the other factors mentioned above. By going electronic, your sales room can be a small study under your stairs and your customers can be anybody. There is plenty of technology available which allows you to process payments electronically from a customer’s credit card or online banking facility. But even if you are not in a position to do this, you can set up a PayPal account and do your selling on eBay. Scarcely any initial outlay for you, and potential for the money to come flowing in with scarcely any delay. And now you can do business in your pajamas at 1.30am. so many of the obstacles to someone hoping to make a way in the business world have been removed, and it is all thanks to the Internet
